This Blanc de Noir champagne is made with Meunier grapes from the Ardre Valley.
Situated on moderately steep hillsides, the vineyards of the Vallée de l'Ardre, on either side of the river and its tributaries, are divided into plots of varying size in around twenty communes.
The clay-limestone and clay-marl soils, as well as the frequent spring frosts, favour the cultivation of the meunier grape variety, which accounts for 75% of the vineyard.
Its reduced "liqueur de dosage" makes it an Extra Brut champagne.
This approach allows the wine to express the finesse of its aromas and the identity of its terroir more freely.
The invigorating attack gives way to a lovely bouquet of yellow fruit and flowers, with a lingering, slightly salty finish. Fresh, fruity and elegant, Cuvée Contraste is a refined wine.
