Welcome to the Single Barrel Champagne Society!
The Single Barrel Champagne Society (SBCS) is more than just a club. It is, above all, a community of passionate customers who have acquired one or more Single Barrels. The creation of
this club is part of our desire to enrich and personalize the Single Barrel experience, creating a bond with those who share our passion.
Why the Single Barrel Champagne Society?
The SBCS offers our customers special services, exclusives and carefully designed events. We aspire to build a true community around our Single Barrels, offering our members privileged
access to the world of champagne.
What is the Single Barrel?
The Single Barrel concept is an innovation in the world of Champagne. The use of new barrels to make Champagne is a first, and it is at Champagne Paul Launois that this experiment
comes to life. The oak, though young, is melted, giving the aromas subtlety and complexity. This is thanks in particular to the process of over-ripening the staves, extended to over 4 years
(instead of usually 3 to 4 years in Champagne). Vinifying and aging the wines in barrel for 11 months also helps to mellow the tannins of the wood. Buying a Single Barrel is an immersive
experience, where the customer becomes a player in the making of their own champagne.
This approach also allows us to contribute to the development of a "vinothèque" (wine library) that is unique in Champagne, bringing together single-plot vintages from the Mesnil Grand
Cru. At the moment, our wine library contains around one hundred references, with a total of 4,000 bottles and magnums. The Single Barrel project not only means producing a custom made champagne,
but also taking part in the creation of an original collection.
The Single Barrel is a sensory and immersive experience within the Maison Paul Launois.
